BTS Logistics of Running a Mobile Bar

We wanted to drop by with a quick reminder on why we have event & contract minimums, why we provide a 100% price transparent brochure & why we do not negotiate our pricing.

#1 Staffing & Skillset

Allure & Alchemy mixologists are paid $30-$50 an hour depending on skill level. They are also paid for travel time. Even if your event has a tiny headcount, we are still paying our mixologist(s) for travel, setup, duration of the event & cleanup. This averages to over $200 per mixologist in event labor cost. On top of our event labor, we have the cost of supplies, fresh ingredients & prep labor (see below).  

#2 Ingredients & Supplies

We use organic citrus juices for your cocktails (go look up the price of limes right now). 
We prep fresh garnishes (usually at 6am the day of to ensure they stay fresh), we make homemade syrups and purees specifically for your event, we also have to order juices, sodas, straws, napkins & ice.

#3 Time & Effort

Admin hours cost. After you book with us, we spend over an hour planning your menu, completing an alcohol needed calculation, creating a specific alcohol list, gathering decor details, designing a layout and finalizing a timeline with you. If your event is a wedding, we will also be syncing with your coordinator, venue and other vendors.

We then have the cost of the labor hours & gas needed for warehouse pick up of bar-tools, glassware, swing tops, coolers, bar towels, bar carts, rentals & decor. Then the labor hours needed to turn all of the supplies into carefully packaged event kits.

Next add a trip to Total Wine to pickup our client’s pre-purchased cases of beer, wine & liquor (these will need to be unloaded & put in a giant fridge to chill).

Lastly, we will be lifting & carrying 3lbs of ice per guest (we average over 100lbs per event), loading all the chilled alcohol back into the event truck or van, loading a 200-pound bar cart, loading very heavy coolers full of fresh product, loading the cases of sodas & juices, loading all the glassware & bar tools. Then driving to the event, unloading, setting up & decorating.

Post-event, everything will need to be reloaded, driven back, unloaded, unpacked, sterilized, inventoried & occasionally repaired before being put back into the warehouse.

And that’s PER EVENT! Some weekends we have 4-5 events going on per day!

So In Conclusion, we know the cost of executing your event (down to every last lime wedge) & we know the margins we need to keep Allure & Alchemy a business instead of a hobby. We also understand that having a mobile mixology experience is a luxury & does not fit into all event budgets. We love chatting with prospective clients & value their vision & budget.
